Qorokwe In Botswana's Okavango Delta, A Stunning Remote Camp

Qorokwe Camp is ideally located in Botswana's southeastern Okavango Delta region, offering guests the perfect base from which to explore the diverse Delta habitats and abundant wildlife.

On game drives or walks, guests can witness the abundance of local herbivores, including elephants, giraffes, buffalos, a range of antelope, and the rarer red lechwe and tsessebe. Lion, leopard, wild dog and hyena are all sighted near camp on game drives and other safari activities.

Gliding along the channels on mokoro excursions, guests can spy on painted reed frogs, water lilies, and perhaps even a surprise 'champagne stop' hidden in the reeds.

Qorokwe Camp provides the perfect base for exploring the Okavango Delta and wildlife rich surroundings.

Located within a private concession spanning 26 180 hectares of acacia woodland, occasional wetland and seasonal floodplains, an area that borders the World-renowned Moremi Game Reserve.

The Qorokwe Camp offers eight elegant tented suites with private viewing decks, a lounge area, an outdoor sitting area, and twin or king-sized beds with mosquito netting.

Camp bathroom amenities include; an indoor shower and outdoor shower, a free-standing bath with a view, his and hers basins, a flushing toilet and hot and cold water.

Safari Activities

Qorokwe Camp is located in one of the most picturesque and pristine wilderness areas in all of Africa; great game viewing is on the cards.

The Qorokwe Concession is a 120,000 hectare (300,000 acres) concession within Okavango Delta bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. The area is characterised by meandering waterways and lush plains, a high-density game area, and a classic delta landscape.

Qorokwe Camp is situated on the edge of a permanent waterhole, providing guests with unsurpassed game viewing opportunities in a classic Okavango Delta setting.

The exclusive Qorokwe concession is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, including all of the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino). Other common sightings include antelope, plains game, zebra, giraffe, wild dog, wildebeest, cheetah, and numerous bird species.

A variety of safari activities fro camp ensure that guests have the best possible wildlife viewing experience;

Day and afternoon game drives are conducted in 4x4game drive vehicles and led by experienced guides. Game drives provide an excellent opportunity to see wildlife in their natural habitat and learn more about the Qorokwe ecology.

Night drives are also conducted in 4x4 game drive vehicles and provide a unique opportunity to see nocturnal animals such as leopard, hyena, jackal and other nocturnal species.

Mekoro trips are a traditional safari activity in which guests travel through the waterways of the Delta in small, poled boats called "mekoros." Mekoro trips provide a relaxing way to view wildlife and experience the Okavango Delta's unique ecosystem.

Guided nature walks are led by experienced guides and provide an opportunity to learn about the plants and animals of the Qorokwe Concession up close. Nature walks are seasonal and dependent on water levels.

Birding safaris are led by experienced birding guides and provide an opportunity to see some of the Okavango Delta's 500+ bird species.

Family Friendly

Qorokwe Camp is the perfect place for a family safari vacation.

Qorokwe Camp welcomes children over six years of age with suitable activities, meals and accommodation (only one family unit is available).

The entire camp is unfenced, and wildlife may wander through the camp; children should never be left unattended at any time during the day or night.

This is a malaria area, so please take the necessary precautions.

A private safari guide and vehicle are available for families when at Qorokwe, although this does come with an additional cost.
