Saruni is located in the privately-owned 240 000 acre Kalama Conservancy that borders the famed Samburu National Reserve, known for its large herds of elephants and exceptional year-round wildlife sightings.
Unique species of wildlife found only in this area of Kenya include; gerenuk, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, grevy’s zebra and the beisa oryx. In addition, leopards, striped hyenas, African civets and African wild dogs or painted hunting dogs are also commonly sighted near the safari lodge.
Each day, guests can explore the rugged terrain in open 4x4 safari vehicles with a knowledgeable guide at the helm. With day and night game drives available in Samburu land, you can experience the thrill of spotting majestic wildlife as they roam around their natural habitat.

Rooms and Suites
Saruni Samburu offers up to six large luxurious villas with exciting design, decor and innovative eco-chic architecture. All six villas have unparalleled views of the surrounding landscape, private verandahs, spacious live areas, king or twin bedding and en-suite bathrooms and dressing rooms.
Four of the six Saruni villas are perfect for families and offer up two en-suite bedrooms.
Family villa No. 4 has one of the most amazing bathtubs in Kenya with exceptional views out over the Samburu.
Cuisine and Wine
The cuisine has a strong Italian flavour, while the chef and their staff love to experiment with some of the fantastic ingredients found in Kenya, in particular beef, fish and vegetables.
The wine selection at Saruni Samburu is excellent, with a wide variety of red, white and sparkling wines on offer. There is something to suit all tastes and budgets, and knowledgeable sommeliers are always on hand to help guests make a perfect choice.
Advanced notice is required should further dietary requests be required (there are no shops in the Samburu area of Kenya).

There is no age limit whatsoever for children at Saruni Samburu; families are most welcome year-round.
'Samburu Warriors Academy', an interactive experience designed with children in mind, is available for kids of all ages, emphasising education, fun, and exploration.
Meals can be tailor-made to suit one's family's requirements, such as early dinners or particular meal choices. This is based purely on what your requirements are when on safari.
