Day 1: Okonjati wildlife sanctuary
- Departing Windhoek we head north for the town of Okahandja were we visit the famed wood carving market.
- The Okonjati wildlife sanctuary is our final destination for the day were we check into Mount Etjo Safari Lodge.
- Mount Etjo Safari Lodge faces a large lake that is frequented by wildlife and home to hippos.
- Birdlife around the lodge is rather good, to say the least.
- Meals: Lunch and dinner
- Accommodation: Mount Etjo Safari Lodge
Day 2: Etosha National Park
- An early start to the day as we continue our safari north as we pass numerous small towns for fuel and supplies.
- Etosha National Parks Namutoni region being our final destination for the day.
- A checking into our chalets and an hour or so of leisure time to settle in we head out for our first game drive in the late afternoon.
- The main area of Namutoni offers up; restaurants, a lounge, a bar, crafts boutique, curio shop, jewellers and bookstore,
- Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Accommodation: Namutoni Chalet
Day 3: Etosha National Park
- An early start to the day sees us embark on a full days game drive through The Etosha National Park.
- We visit the massive Etosha Pan and numerous waterholes along the way, wildlife is exceptional.
- We stop off for lunch at Halali, our halfway mark.
- Departing Halali we head for our night's accommodation at Okaukuejo, Etosha's main rest camp.
- A highlight of Okaukuejo is the floodlit waterhole where one can just sit back and watch the wildlife come down to drink during the course of the night.
- Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Accommodation: Okaukeujo Chalet
Day 4: Koakoveld
- Today we travel through the previously restricted area of Western Etosha National Park, we exit via the Otjovasandu Gate.
- Our destination today is Hobatere Lodge that is located 80 km north of the town Kamanjab.
- Hobatere Lodge is situated in a 32 000 ha concession which is home to Lion, Leopard, Oryx, Eland, Cheetah, Giraffe, Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra and Elephant.
- Activities here include game drives, bird watching and guided walks.
- Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Accommodation: Hobatere Lodge
Day 5: Damaraland
- Leaving the Koakoveld we head deep into Damaraland visiting Himba villages are we go.
- Highlights today include; Himba villages, Grootberg Pass and the Bushman rock engravings at Twyfelfontein.
- Twyfelfontein is a World Heritage Site boasting one of the richest rock art concentrations in Africa.
- Twyfelfontein Lodge is our home tonight and offers the following amenities; reception, lounge, curio shop, open dining room, bar and swimming pool
- Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Accommodation: Twyfelfontein Lodge
Day 6: Swakopmund
- We depart Damaraland for the Atlantic Ocean this morning with Swakopmund being our destination.
- En route, we pass desert scapes and Namibia's highest mountain, The Brandberg.
- We stop off at the small town of Uis for some semi-presious stone shopping.
- The road continues until we meet the Atlantic Ocean, from here we visit Henties Bay and the seal colony at Cape Cross
- We arrive in Swakopmund in the late afternoon and check into our 'Swakopmund Lifestyle Apartments'.
- Dinner tonight is for your own account at one of the many excellent restaurants found in Swakopmund.
- Meals: Breakfast and lunch
- Accommodation: Swakopmund Lifestyle Apartments
Day 7: Namibia Northern Swing Safari Ends
- We depart Swakopmund around lunchtime giving us enough time to do so shopping and last minute activities.
- A four and a half hour journey from Swakopmund to Windhoek for the end of the safari.
- Meals: Breakfast

The Road To Sossusvlei
Once one navigates the main Sesriem entrance gates and enters the national park a pleasant surprise awaits, a tarred road (yes, a tarred road) that extends all the way through to the main parking area near Sossusvlei.

In November and December of last year (2019), we loaded our Jeep and headed north out of Cape Town, destination Namibia and the Kunene River, her border with Angola.
A couple of thousand kilometres later, we returned, this time, more in love with country than ever.
Windhoek Oktoberfest 2021
On the 25th and 26th of October, the Sports Klub Windhoek will host the 55th edition of the Oktoberfest. Over 5000 people are expected to attend (compared to 1000 in 2010).
