Day 1: Windhoek
- On arrival at Windhoek International Airport, collect your rental vehicle and head into the city.
- Olive Grove Guesthouse is your home for the night.
- The afternoon is at your leisure, relax after your long flight or start exploring Windhoek.
- Numerous restaurants are available in and around the city, or simply just stay at Olive Grove and have your dinner there.

Day 2: Kalahari Desert
- After breakfast, your safari begins, head south out of Windhoek and onto the Kalahari Desert.
- Kalahari Anib Lodge is your destination for the night.
- The drive today is relaxed and easy within the region of 260 kilometres.
- Activities here included guided drives on the flora and fauna of the Kalahari Desert.

Day 3: Fish River Canyon
- En route to the Fish River Canyon, there are plenty of photographic spots to stop at, including Quiver Tree Forests and Giant's Playground.

- Depending on time one could have a few sunset drinks looking over the worlds second-largest canyon.

Day 4: Fish River Canyon
- Today you can explore the area at your own pace.
- There are numerous vantage points that one can visit so as to see all that the Fish River Canyon has to offer.

Day 5: Lüderitz
- Today head west to the charming Atlantic town of Lüderitz.
- The drive is scenic with vast barren expanses surrounding you, the drive takes one through a Prohibited Diamond Area were stopping the vehicle will get you into a bit of trouble.
- Lüderitz offers plenty to do, including sightseeing and an afternoon excursion to the Diaz cross.
- Seafood restaurants are aplenty.

Day 6: Bordering the Namib Desert
- After breakfast, a stop off at the ghost town of Kolmanskop is highly recommended.
- Driving back along the road that dissects the Prohibited Diamond Area you head for your overnight accommodation "Desert Horse Inn".
- Experience the daily life of a farmer in the south.
- Meals: Dinner, Bed and Breakfast
- Accommodation: Desert Horse Inn
Day 7: Namib Desert
- Into the spectacular Namib Desert you head, turn left just after the town of Aus.
- The drive-in is one of the more spectacular drives you will encounter in your life.
- Do not forget to stop along the side of the road and take photographs of the mountains to you right and sand dunes to your left.
- Your destination is the Kulala Desert Lodge.
- Try your best to get to The Desert Grace in time for sundowners in the desert.
- Meals: Dinner, Bed and Breakfast
- Accommodation: The Desert Grace
Day 8: Namib Desert
- Today you sit back and let your guides at The Desert Grace do all the work.
- Activities here are varied and numerous, we recommend the following; a Sossusvlei and Sesriem tour, early morning ballooning over the desert(optional)
- Meals: Dinner, Bed and Breakfast
- Accommodation: The Desert Grace
Day 9: Swakopmund
- Swakopmund is today's destination, leave in good time as the drive is a scenic one.
- Stop off at the Kuiseb Canyon, the "Lunar Landscape" as well as Welwitschia mirabilis en route to Swakopmund.
- Swakopmund is your home for the next three nights.
- Overnight at the Hansa Hotel on a bed & breakfast basis.
- Meals: Bed and Breakfast

Days 10-11: Swakopmund
- The next few days are all about relaxing and exploring at your own pace.
- Numerous adventure activities are on offer (all optional) including Skydiving, quad biking and sand boarding to mention but a few.
- A drive to Walvis Bay is also recommended as is a drive to the seal colony at Cape Cross.

Day 12: Windhoek
- A relaxed drive back to Windhoek is on the cards today.
- Stop off at Okahandja for wood-carving souvenirs.

Day 13: Namibia South Self Drive Safari Ends
- Some last-minute shopping in Windhoek before heading to the airport for your connecting flight.

The Road To Sossusvlei
Once one navigates the main Sesriem entrance gates and enters the national park a pleasant surprise awaits, a tarred road (yes, a tarred road) that extends all the way through to the main parking area near Sossusvlei.
Cape Town To The Kunene River
In November and December of last year (2019), we loaded our Jeep and headed north out of Cape Town, destination Namibia and the Kunene River, her border with Angola.
A couple of thousand kilometres later, we returned, this time, more in love with country than ever.
Windhoek Oktoberfest 2021
On the 25th and 26th of October, the Sports Klub Windhoek will host the 55th edition of the Oktoberfest. Over 5000 people are expected to attend (compared to 1000 in 2010).
Adding a certain local flavour will be the Namibian band Famaz Attak, and there will be long-established activities and games like archery and tree trunk sawing.
