Reserve Information
The Lapalala Wilderness Reserve is an unspoiled paradise that stretches across the Waterberg Biosphere in South Africa. It was established in 1981 by conservationists Dale Parker and Clive Walker, who founded the "Wilderness Wildlife School" to promote wildlife preservation and environmental education.
The reserve spans more than 48 000 hectares of untouched bushveld and is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including 300 bird species, 50 fish species, 147 mammal species, 33 amphibian species and 114 reptile species.
