Plantation Lodge is located a mere hop, skip and a jump away from the entrances of Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Lake Manyara National Park. The lodge is the ideal base for travellers to explore the region without breaking the bank.

Attention to detail is everywhere in this owner-run lodge, from the personalized service to the decor and furnishing all the way through to the friendly smiles of the staff.

Seven acres of beautifully maintained gardens surround the lodge, which was initially an old farmhouse dating back to the German colonial era around 1890.

The farmhouse has been lovingly restored and now provides guests with a home away from home.

Whether you are into bird watching, photography, game drives, or taking a tour of the coffee plantation or local farms, Plantation Lodge offers it all! Rooms and Suites

There is no room or suite that is alike at Plantation Lodge; each one is individually decorated and all vary in actual size.

17 standard rooms are of a spacious nature featuring en-suite bathroom facilities with showers, king-sized or single beds (with mosquito nets), a wood-burning stove and a small verandah.

6 suites offer a more private feel while being larger in nature than that of a standard suite whilst offering similar amenities.

Cuisine and Wine

All of the fruit and vegetables are grown on the premises or sourced from local farmers. The chefs and kitchen staff at Plantation Lodge are well known for some of the freshest and tastiest meals of any lodge in the area. The cuisine is served in the indoor dining room or outside of a shaded verandah; private and romantic dinners for two can be arranged in the gardens.

Facilities

A highlight of the lodge is those extensive tropical gardens with manicured lawns; one can wonder about these gardens all day - birdlife is excellent.
