Discover Tarangire National Park's Little Oliver's; A Unique And Unforgettable Safari Camp Experience Awaits
In the heart of Tarangire National Park, one of the most magnificent places in Africa (never mind Tanzania) for wildlife sightings, one comes across Little Oliver’s Camp.
Perfectly positioned within the Tarangire to make the most of the spectacular wildlife and landscapes this unspoilt wilderness Park has to offer.
Small and yet very exclusive, Little Oliver's Camp is just a kilometre away from Oliver’s Camp. Little Oliver's overlooks a flood plain of the Minyoyo Pools, the Silale Swamps and out over the majestic Tarangire National Park, teaming with wildlife and birdlife.
The camp itself is intimate and personal (small enough to call your own), just the place for small groups or families looking for a totally private safari.
The five tented suites are all large and luxurious, with private verandas from which to take in the magnificent views.
Dining is al fresco under the stars or in the cosy dining room, both with excellent views of the flood plain and its resident wildlife.
Activities include game drives in specially adapted 4x4 vehicles, night drives, walking safaris, fly camping, hot-air balloon safaris (on request at an additional cost) and cultural visits to local villages.
For those who want to go that one step further, there is the option of a private vehicle and guide throughout your stay, making this a very personal experience.
A visit to Little Oliver’s Camp is an unforgettable experience which will live long in one's memory.
Rooms and Suites
Little Oliver’s Camp's five well-appointed tented suites are beautifully furnished with handmade pieces crafted from the timber of old trading dhows that plied the East African coast in earlier times.
Each tent has full en-suite facilities with both indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a large, private deck that overlooks the sweeping floodplain beyond.
- In-room lockable box
- Complimentary laundry service
- Solar and generator power
- Battery-charging facilities
Cuisine and Wine
The homemade gourmet-styled cuisine is delicious at Little Oliver's Camp, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner or anything in between for that matter. If, of course, you’d like to eat in the bush, you can request a packed breakfast or lunch to take with you in the morning or simply opt for a bush breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Breakfast is a satisfying spread and includes cereals, muesli, fruit, yoghurt, French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage and occasionally a cheese board.
The buffet lunch is accompanied by a variety of salads, followed by dessert.
Dinners are a delectable three-course affair.
Activities
Highly skilled and professional guides at Little Oliver's Camp will take you on twice-daily game drives in open-sided vehicles, so you can get up close and personal with the wilderness. You'll be able to recharge your devices on board, too.
Looking for a unique night-time activity? Join a night game drive and look for nocturnal animals in the Tarangire National Park with a powerful spotlight.
An immersive experience with untamed nature, a walking safari in Tarangire National Park is a must for all that visit. Get up close and personal with local wildlife, learn about wildlife tracks and droppings, as well as the different plants and birdlife in the area.
Fly camping; (optional) spending the night in a lightweight fly camp with nothing more than a tent, a guide and a small team of staff.
A hot-air balloon safari is an optional but romantic and evocative safari experience and activity.
Child Friendly
Families with children aged five and older are warmly welcomed in Little Oliver’s. However, it is best if the entire camp is occupied by a small family group.
