Busanga Plains Camp is a seasonal luxury bushcamp in the heart of the famed wildlife rich Busanga Plains area in the northern region of Zambia's Kafue National Park.
An intimate option for those seeking out an almost private Zambia safari experience, perfect for couples, honeymooners and small groups alike.
Wildlife that can be spotted on the plains includes lion, buffalo, hippopotamus, lechwe, side-striped jackal, blue wildebeest, roan antelope, oribi antelope and large numbers of elephants. For birders, almost 500 bird species are recorded.
The Busanga Plain in the Kafue consists of 720kmª of untouched palm groves, papyrus-choked reed beds and lily-covered lagoons, a landscape so distinctive, it is like no other you will see in Africa.
Rooms and Suites
Busanga Plains Camp is a small and intimate option with only four luxurious tented suites (two twins and two doubles), each with commanding views over the Busanga Plain.
Each suite offers a private viewing deck, a large bedroom with beds draped with mosquito netting and en-suite bathroom facilities with flushing toilets and open-air bucket showers.
Charging facilities are available in each of the suites.
Cuisine and Wine
Excellent cuisine is served up three times a day, with dinner being a three-course option; all local drinks are included.
Certain dietary requests can be catered for, but please enquire beforehand about what can be prepared.
Facilities
Busanga Plains Camp offers a small tented central guest area with a lounge, bar, and dining area, all with amazing views of the surrounding plains. Outdoors, a wooden viewing deck with a fire pit, an outdoor lounge area, and a swimming pool again offer views of the surrounding plains, which are teaming with wildlife.
It is here that one gathers for departing safari activities, meals and sundowner drinks.
WiFi is available on the main deck, and there are power points to charge phones, laptops, and cameras.
Activities
The Busanga Plains in the Kafue National Park are home to lions, buffalo, elephant and wildebeest. Cheetah and wild dog as well as puku, red lechwe, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, oribi and servals.
