Experience The Sights And Sounds Of Sindabezi Island On The Zambezi River
Sindabezi Island Camp is a private island paradise nestled in the waters of the mighty Zambezi River upstream of Victoria Falls. Sindabezi is the only bush camp in the area, making it a haven of natural tranquillity; you will truly experience the sights and sounds of the African bush.
From Sindabezi, the floodplain of the mighty Zambezi and the views of the wildlife in the nearby National Park will capture your soul.
Your stay at Sindabezi Island Camp begins with either a short boat ride or a guided canoe trip down the Zambezi. Along the way, there are lots of opportunities for game viewing as we pass close to the shores of Zimbabwe, where many animals wander from the Zambezi National Park to the water at the river's edge.
The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always on hand to guarantee your every comfort and wish is taken care of.
At night, the camp is transformed into a world of yesteryear, with the absence of electricity adding to the romance and charm of this magical island.
Five-star dining on the Zambezi sand, under the canopy of stars, with the river meandering past and the unmistakable sounds of hippos wallowing nearby, assure an experience never to be forgotten.
Sindabezi Island is ideal for families, a small group of friends or fellow travellers looking for complete privacy and an intimate island experience.
Rooms and Suites
Sindabezi Island sleeps only ten people in five open-fronted thatched chalets dotted around the shores of the Zambezi flood plains. Without question, one of the more unique safari camp options when to look at when visiting Victoria Falls.
The camp is very rustic in style, with all electricity generated coming from solar, wood fires and night lighting mainly with lanterns.
The design of the chalets allows you to encounter up close all the sights and sounds of the river and the creatures that live in and around it, including regular visits from Horace, the resident hippo.
Luxurious en-suite bathrooms with flushing toilet, twin hand basins, a free-standing bathtub and an outdoor shower.
At night, you will fall asleep in the glow of a hurricane lamp and be awoken by the magnificent sun rising over the Zambezi River and the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.
For those on honeymoon (or simply in love), the honeymoon chalet is something to behold, the ultimate in privacy.
Cuisine and Wine
The menus are regularly updated according to the latest international trends and seasonal produce that grow in their own vegetable and herb garden.
This means that guests can enjoy delicious dishes that are both innovative and flavourful.
In addition, the Sindabezi Island chefs are passionate about pairing each dish with the perfect wine. This means that guests can enjoy a truly unique and memorable dining experience.
Romantic Zambezi Island picnics are available should one require a bit of romance whilst in Victoria falls; highly recommended for couples, romantics and honeymooners alike.
