Introduction
Moremi Crossing is located on an idyllic palm-fringed island within the wildlife-rich Moremi Game Reserve, a relatively new camp that offers up 16 tented suites all with views out over the waters of the Okavango.
A camp that offers excellent motorboat safaris, mokoro canoe safaris and walking safaris combined with excellent accommodation, a genuinely good value for money destination in the heart of one of Africa's famed reserves.
The camp is 100% eco-friendly featuring the latest in solar and waste disposal technology.
Rooms and Suites
Sixteen vintage (Meru Styled) safari tents all will magical views out over the Okavango offer guests a luxurious stay. All suites are raised off the ground with private verandahs, twin or king-sized beds, en-suite bathrooms with outdoor showers.
- 14 standards suites
- 1 family suite (2 adults and 2 children)
- 1 honeymoon suite (with outdoor bath)
Cuisine and Wine
Cuisine, whether it be breakfast, lunch, high tea or dinner is more of the scrumptious home-cooked variety than that of gourmet-style. Make so mistake all meals are good, really good, all prepared with fresh local ingredients by the team in the kitchen.
Private dinners can be arranged in advance for those special occasions. Most dietary requirements are also catered for, although prior notice must be given.
All meals are included in the nightly rate.
Lodge Facilities
The central guest area of Moremi Crossing offers a spectacular view over the Boro River onto Chief's Island and beyond, a truly wonderful place to sit back and take the Okavango Delta in. The area offers a large wooden open plan viewing deck, dining room, bar and lounge, all under thatched roofing.
A shaded deck just off to the side of the central guest area offers a small pool with sun loungers.
Safari Activities
Moremi Crossing Camp, surrounded by the waters of the Okavango, the camp is a water-based safari option only. In other words, there are NO game drives offered by the camp, mokoro and motor-boat safaris and a few short walking safari options are your choices.
An option for those who seek out adventure is the Island Camping; you, a guide, a mokoro and a tent in the middle of the Delta, honestly, what could be better?
Activities list;
- Mokoro safaris
- Guided bush walks
- Private island camping options
- Sunset cruises on a motor-boat
As with any water-based lodge we always recommend a few nights at a camp/ lodge that offers more land-based safari activities, e.g. Rra Dinare and Pom Pom camps from the same portfolio.
Family Friendly
Children over the age of 6 years are welcome at Moremi Crossing. We would suggest 12 years and upwards as there would be very little to keep younger children occupied for long periods of time.
Malaria is present and the camp is unfenced.
