Day 1: Windhoek
- Windhoek is the capital of Namibia and has approximately 180 000 inhabitants and is 1650 m above sea level.
- For most Visitors, Windhoek is the entrance point to Namibia's numerous and varied attractions.
- Yet Windhoek should not merely be regarded as an arrival point and transit station because the city and its surroundings have much to offer.
- Accommodation at Olive Grove Guesthouse is offered in spacious and generously appointed en-suite rooms.
- Each room is fully equipped with air-condition/heating units, direct telephone lines, electronic safes, mini-bars, televisions with cable channels and music facilities.

Day 2: Namib Desert
- Inspired by North African architecture, Le Mirage Desert Lodge and Spa is situated in the Namib Desert, 21 kilometres from Sesriem and the entrance gate to the Namib-Naukluft Park and Sossusvlei.
- From the distant road and from the air as you approach Le Mirage Desert Lodge and Spa.
- The three lodge buildings built largely from local rock materials form a natural part of the desert environment totally in harmony with nature.

Day 3: Namib Desert
- Rostock Ritz Desert Lodge is built on the slope of a hill overlooking the north the Rotstock Mountain range and in the southwest the colourful dune landscape of the Namib Desert (Namibia).
- The lodge can accommodate 40 guests in 20 rooms ensuite, each with its own balcony and exclusive panoramic view of the Namib Naukluft Park.

Day 4: Swakopmund
- The Swakopmund Hotel, probably a unique feature about Namibia is its space.
- Incessant deserts stretch for miles to meet the most dramatic sunsets you can imagine.

- One such town is Swakopmund.
- Built in and around its beautifully restored Old Station Building, dating back to 1901.

Day 5: Swakopmund
- The Swakopmund Hotel has 44 twin rooms, 30 family rooms, 14 luxury rooms and 2 luxury suites are all decorated in a Victorian style reminiscent of a bygone era of grace and civility.

Day 6: Outjo
- Outjo lies on the junction of the C39 and the C38. The C38 leads to the Etosha National Park. The Okaukuejo entrance lies about 100 kilometres away from Outjo.
- The town was founded by the Schutztruppe.
- Major Leutwein had a small military base erected here in 1897, for expeditions into the, then unknown, north, mainly to Ovamboland.
- The comfortably appointed bungalows and guest rooms at Namatubis Guest Farm encourage guests to relax at a crystal clear swimming pool or to meander through a beautiful tropical garden with many indigenous plants and a variety of birds, or enjoy a "sundowner" on your private terrace.

Day 7: Etosha National Park region
- Etosha National Park is one of Southern Africa's finest and most important Game Reserves.
- Etosha Game park was declared a National Park in 1907 and covering an. area of 22 270 square km, it is home to 114 mammal species, 340 bird species, 110 reptile species, 16 amphibian species and, surprisingly, one species of fish.

Day 8: Etosha National Park region
- Etosha, meaning "Great White Place", is dominated by a massive mineral pan.
- The pan is part of the Kalahari Basin, the floor of which was formed around 1000 million years ago.
- The Etosha Pan covers around 25% of the National Park.
- The pan was originally a lake fed by the Kunene River. However, the course of the river changed thousands of years ago and the lake dried up.
- The pan now is a large dusty depression of salt and dusty clay which fills only if the rains are heavy and even then only holds water for a short time.

Day 9: Windhoek

The Road To Sossusvlei
Once one navigates the main Sesriem entrance gates and enters the national park a pleasant surprise awaits, a tarred road (yes, a tarred road) that extends all the way through to the main parking area near Sossusvlei.

In November and December of last year (2019), we loaded our Jeep and headed north out of Cape Town, destination Namibia and the Kunene River, her border with Angola.
A couple of thousand kilometres later, we returned, this time, more in love with country than ever.
Windhoek Oktoberfest 2021
On the 25th and 26th of October, the Sports Klub Windhoek will host the 55th edition of the Oktoberfest. Over 5000 people are expected to attend (compared to 1000 in 2010).
Adding a certain local flavour will be the Namibian band Famaz Attak, and there will be long-established activities and games like archery and tree trunk sawing.
