Namib Desert Lodge Gallery
Namib Desert Lodge is ideally located within 60 kilometres of Sesriem, the entrance gate to Sossusvlei which is around 60 to 75-minute drive. From Sesriem to Sossusvlei, the road is tar and this will take you a further hour to complete driving at the speed limit.
Rooms are more than adequate, comfortable beds, bathrooms with showers en-suite and a small verandah for one to sit back and relax on.
The central guest area offers up two swimming pools(one for adults and one for children), a bar area, and two dining areas as well as a reception and shop. The swimming pool area is ideal for those lazy hot summer afternoons, the perfect spot to lie back and relax with of course a cool drink, beer or cocktail in hand.
Note: The roads in this region are dirt roads and the last few times that we have travelled here, the roads have been in terrible condition. Please take that into consideration when calculating your travelling times (double your travelling time).
Can we recommend a stay at Namib Desert Lodge? Yes, most definitely, Yes. We feel that this establishment offers that perfect balance between comfort, luxury and location when it comes to staying in this region of Namibia. In other words, it is perfect for those that are not looking for anything over the top, perfect for those on a budget and perfect for those on a self-drive safari.

Living With The Himba
In May 2012, we arranged for Uyaphi.Com client Ken Vine from Devon in England to stay with the traditional Himba people in two remote villages in the middle of Kaokoland.
He lived, slept, ate, conversed and photographed these Himba villagers.
