Introduction

One of the last remaining luxury vintage safari camps, Gunn's Camp overlooks the legendary Chief's Island and the waterways of the Okavango Delta teaming with birdlife and wildlife. A camp with just six tented suites that is an ideal destination for honeymooners and romantics alike.

A water-based safari experience awaits one as you explore the Okavango waterways on either mokoro or motorboat safaris.

A stay at the luxurious Gunn's is about recreating that authentic African safari experience, a visit that focuses on privacy, stunning wildlife and of course fantastic hospitality.

Rooms and Suites

Six deluxe "Meru" styled tented suites are on offer when staying at Gunn's Camp; all set far enough apart to ensure a significant degree of privacy at all times. The decor is an eclectic mix of solid wood and African furniture that compliments the area and views that all the suites offer.

All suites are raised off the ground with spectacular views from their private verandahs, spacious interiors with separate lounge and bedroom areas. En-suite bathrooms feature outdoor showers, standalone bathtubs and his and hers hand basins.

Cuisine and Wine

Scrumptious home-cooked style cuisine in on offer in the either of the two indoor dining areas or outside in the open air boma. In the kitchen, a team of cooks and chefs prepare meals from only the freshest local ingredients.

Private dinners can be arranged in advance for those special occasions. Most dietary requirements are also catered for, although prior notice must be given.

All meals are included in the nightly rate.

Lodge Facilities

The central guest area offers guests access to an elevated bar, lounge and dining room all with views out over the Okavango Delta and notably Chief's Island. This area is decorated in traditional safari style with wood and thatch being the main theme.

Just off to the side, one has access to a swimming pool with umbrellas and sun loungers and a campfire area.

For us, the highlight being the bar area on the top deck with those views, a fantastic spot to sit back and enjoy all that is Botswana.

Safari Activities

Safaris activities at Gunn's Camp are purely water or walking based, no games drives at all. This is down to the location of the camp that is surrounded by Okavango waterways and islands.

A highlight and a must do is the private island wild camping option, just you, the guide and a tented on a wildlife-rich island in the Delta.
