Not many camps or lodges within Botswana offer 'Star Beds' or 'Sleep Outs' as an optional activity, but for those that do, they do it properly. In complete seclusion surrounded by nothing else than the wild bushveld that surrounds and the African stars above, a night out alone in the bush is often the highlight of many a safari to Botswana.

Okay, so admittedly, getting dropped off far from one's lodge does sound a bit scary, even we have to admit that, but, remember, a guide will be positioned close by, you will be in radio contact with the lodge at all times, you will have bathroom facilities, and you will be told in no uncertain circumstances that going for a midnight walk will most probably not end well. But fear not, a little common sense and one will have the most amazing time.

And now for the positive aspects, complete privacy, alone in the wild with the sounds of Africa coming from every direction, that sunrise in the morning, ideal for honeymooners or romantics out there and let us not forget, falling asleep under all those stars.

As a general rule, 'Star Beds' or 'Sleep Outs' are offered as an option cost activity and most often have to be booked in advance on a first-come-first-served basis. So enquire early and book now :)
